5. DIY Memory Lab

Description

Booking Instructions

  • You can book 4 Memory Lab sessions per month in advance, with additional same-day sessions permitted if space is available.
  • Sessions run for 3–4 hours, starting mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
  • Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance via the link in your LibCal booking email.
  • If you are over an hour late, your session may be reassigned to allow others to use the space.

Please note

  • Staff will be available for the first 20 minutes or so to help you get started. After that you’ll generally be on your own. Basic computer skills are required. If you don't have experience with computers, we recommend bringing a friend or family who can help. 
  • Users are responsible for cleaning up at the end of their session and must be finished with all cleanup and file transfers by the end of their scheduled time.
  • Personal files are deleted after each session. Please bring an external drive to save your work. 64GB USB 3.0 flash drives and SD cards are $10 at the Tech Desk.
  • Food and drink are not allowed with the exception of water in a sealable container.

  • Scans batches of 50 photos or documents

  • Scans 35mm, medium format, and 4x5 film/negatives

  • Contactless scanning of sensitive books
  • Max scan size 15.3" x 18.9"
